Youth Event

Motzei Shabbos February 25th, the youth department will be having an event for all 2nd-5th graders.  It will take place at the shul from 7:15-8:30 PM.  We will be having pizza, family feud, and a raffle.  The cost of the event is $5.00.  RSVP by Wednesday February 22nd to Arie Schnipper at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Seforim Donations

The shul is raising money to buy the complete set of the Artscroll Schottenstein Talmud for the beis medresh in our new location.  Thank you to the following families who have already donated to this project:

Tehillim Group

The next meeting will be February 29th, at 8:30 PM at 1085 Magnolia Road and will continue to be every other Wednesday night at 8:30.

Shiurim

Parsha Shiur with Dani Bieler, Thursday night at 9:00 PM at the shul. The shiur will last 20 minutes and is open to both men and women. There will be Maariv following the shiur.

Mishloach Manot

In honor of Purim, Shaare Tefillah’s Sisterhood will be sending a large Mishloach Manot to each member family, containing a scroll listing the names of all the families who have sent it
Cost: $65 per family to send Mishloach Manot to all shul members.

We are once again looking for volunteers to help pack our Sisterhood Mishloach Manot and help deliver them as well.  Packing will be on Saturday night March 3rd  at 8:30 p.m. at the shul. Delivery will be on Purim day.  We need between 10-15 people to volunteer to deliver approximately 5-7 mishloach manot each.  If interested and available please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Membership

Below is a schedule of our Membership Dues for 2012:
  • Full Membership            $700.00
  • Building Fund Commitment:     $5,000.00 (payable over 5 years)
  • Eruv Assessment            $18.00
For those wishing to join as Associate Members, please note that this option will only be available to those residing outside of the Teaneck area, or to those who are Full Members of another shul.
  • Associate Membership:        $350.00
We are sensitive to the fact that some people may not have the financial resources to meet Shaare Tefillah’s membership obligations. Over the past few years, many of our members have paid their Membership Dues and Building Fund obligations through monthly payments via electronic bill pay or credit card. For 2012, monthly payments of Membership Dues and Building Fund equal $141.67 per month.

Jewish Book Club

Shaare Tefillah's Jewish Book club is reading "The Invisible Bridge" by Julie Orringer. We will meet on Wednesday, March 14 at 8:30 pm at the home of Davidand Rachel Yolkut to discuss the book.  People rave about this book, so if you've been looking for a chance to join the book club, now is a great time! New Families


The entire community is encouraged to attend the 6th Annual Project S.A.R.A.H. (Stop Abusive Relationships At Home) Breakfast on Sunday, March 18th, 9:30-11:30am at Bnai Yeshurun. Project S.A.R.A.H is a domestic violence and sexual abuse project that supports all members of the Jewish community throughout NJ.
